We have been the in the top 3 teacher salary schedules in the state for the last several years. The money isn’t as important as the symbol of commitment to take care of our most valued staff, the teacher. We pay 100% of teacher retirement contributions and a life insurance policy.

It’s simple. We believe our students deserve the best, so we invest in our single greatest asset - the teacher in the classroom.

If you have federal student loans, your loans may be forgiven for teaching at our school. Oklahoma Teacher’s Reitrement System is an exceptional retirement for Oklahoma Educators.

Crooked Oak is a place to grow. Throughout the years we have hosted the likes of Larry Bell, Monty Roberts, Todd Whitaker, Ruby Payne, Andre Daughty, and several others.

Our philosophy is to equip our teachers to be their very best. Staff members have attended project learning conferences, Kagan conferences, Nuts and Bolts Symposium, and many other high quality professional development opportunities.

Crooked Oak is one of the oldest schools in the state. Our beginning dates back to 1893 before Oklahoma was even a state. Although we are located in the heart of OKC, we are an independent Pre-K -12 school. With an enrollment of around 1200 students, we are big enough to offer special programs, but not so big that the individual gets lost.

We welcome innovative ideas. In 2022 we began our bilingual 4 year old program. Half of the day in Spanish, half of the day in English. We have a partnership with Tinker Federal Credit Union where our students intern at the branch located on campus. We have an Air Force Junior ROTC program that is second to none in the nation.

We partner with colleges and universities. Our students can get hands-on training through our Information Technology Department. In short, we try to rethink education and find creative opportunities for our students.

Our alumni are very strong and active supporters of the school.

The ideal Crooked Oak candidate is coachable, driven by a passion to make a positive difference in the lives of his/her students, and has the ability to get along with a wide array of people.

Coachability - we believe one size does not fit all and we are always looking to grow and fine-tune our skills.

Passion - we teach that students, not just subjects, matter. Our teachers make a difference - and not because they are experts in any given subject, but because they instill value and promise within our students.

We highly value our ability to get along- Theodore Roosevelt said it best “The most important single ingredient in the formula of success is knowing how to get along with people.” Crooked Oak teachers must be able to communicate and establish relationships with not only students but also parents, community members, administration and colleagues.
