Our CO boys’ basketball team has made it to State! The first game will be Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 12:00 pm. With proof of a paid ticket and signed permission slip, we will be bussing over Middle School and High School students to cheer on our team to victory. (Elementary students who wish to attend will receive an excused absence but must be checked out and taken to the game with their parents.) Below are pieces of important information in order for us to have a successful trip: • ONLY students with a paid ticket and signed permission slip will be allowed to attend. • ALL students that are going to the game will ride the bus to and from the game. • We will NOT allow students to be checked out at the game o Students must be checked out prior to getting on the bus or after we get back in order to go with a parent • We must follow the arena’s Clear Bag Policy. It is as follows: The OKC Fairgrounds has a clear-bag policy and walk-through scanners in place for the OSSAA State Tournaments to be held in the Jim Norick Arena. The approved clear plastic tote size is a maximum of 12 inches x 6 inches x 12 inches or a one-gallon clear plastic freezer bag. The policy will allow non-transparent clutch wallets that are no larger than 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches, clear fanny packs and clear crossbody bags. Bags that are necessary for medical equipment will be searched at each gate. No other bags or purses including diaper bags will be permitted and the limit on bags is one per person. • Students will have to go through a metal detector. Anything that will set this off needs to be left at home. • Students will need to sit in the student section with their assigned teacher o Except for using the bathroom, students will be expected to be watching the game o We will not be making trips back and forth to the concession stand Cheering Etiquette: • No profanity will be tolerated • We will NOT boo, heckle, harass, or say anything to the officials or the other team • Only positive cheering for our team • We are asking all students to wear black, as this is the color of uniform our boys will be wearing o Clothing must be school appropriate If a student is caught violating any of these rules, school consequences will be enforced. With deepest sympathy, we share the passing of our beloved school board member, Mrs. Melva Brinlee. A true pillar of the Crooked Oak community, Melva’s unwavering dedication to our students, staff, and families was evident in everything she did. She was a proud graduate of Crooked Oak from the mid-to-late 1960s and continued to give back to the district she cherished. Her generosity knew no bounds. Her legacy of kindness, selflessness, and unwavering support will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed. --- Con más profunda simpatía, compartimos el fallecimiento de nuestra querida miembro de la junta escolar, Señora. Melva Brinlee. Una verdadera pilar de la comunidad Crooked Oak, la dedicación inquebrantable de Melva a nuestros estudiantes, personal y familias fue evidente en todo lo que hizo. We've noticed elementary students walking across the parking lot alone, and we want to keep them safe. To help with this, parents should avoid dropping students off directly in front of the building or in the front parking lot. Students should be dropped off in the back by the cafeteria until 8:10 AM. After 8:10 AM, they need to be walked into the office by a parent and signed in on the kiosk. --- Hemos notado estudiantes de primaria caminando solos por el estacionamiento, y queremos mantenerlos seguros. Para ayudar con esto, los padres deben evitar dejar a los estudiantes directamente en frente del edificio o en el estacionamiento delantero. Los estudiantes deben ser dejados en la parte de atrás por la cafetería hasta las 8:10 AM. Después de las 8:10 AM, uno de los padres debe llevarlos a la oficina y registrarlos en el quiosco.

OCCC has shared some resources with us for high school seniors and adults entering or re-entering post-secondary education. They have a series of workshops at the Capitol Hill and Southern Oaks libraries. These are free workshops held at the Metropolitan Libraries in the area. --- OCCC ha compartido algunos recursos con nosotros para estudiantes de último año de secundaria y adultos que ingresan o reingresan a la educación postsecundaria.
