Job Description: Para-professional – Special Education
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Must pass OSBI Background Check
Must have either 48 college hours or pass the Para-Pro Assessment
Qualifications:
Aptitude for the work to be performed
Interest in children and education
Desire to assist students with special needs in a learning environment
Emotional maturity and stability necessary for the specialized work involved
Job Goal: To assist, support, and work closely with teachers, administrators, and other team members in providing educational benefit for students.
1. Works with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of materials or skills initially introduced and outlined by certified staff.
2. Assists the certified staff in devising special strategies for reinforcing learning materials and skills based on a sympathetic understanding of individual students, their needs, interests, and abilities
3. Performs clerical, classroom maintenance, and instructional duties as assigned by the certified staff.
4. Alerts the certified staff to any problem or special information about an individual student.
5. Performs assigned supervision of students during lunch periods, play periods, and on field trips.
6. Performs assigned non-instructional classroom duties, such as snack time, toileting, and clothing routines.
7. When requested, serves as a resource person to the General Education Intervention Team and/or IEP

School Uniform information:
👖BOTTOMS:
Navy blue, black or khaki: Non-denim uniform pants, skirts or shorts (no short shorts). No pajama pants, sweats, swoosh pants, jeggings, or leggings.
👕TOPS:
White, Red or Burgundy: Shirts with a collar. Shirt may be untucked however, shirts must not extend below the palm of the hand while the student’s arms are at rest at the student’s side while standing. Crooked Oak logos and/or apparel purchased at Crooked Oak Schools are allowed.

We are rolling out a new enrollment system for this 2022-2023 school year and will be using Infinite Campus for all enrollments. This means that you will now be able to use one link to enroll all of your students! We are very excited about this new process! We will be posting and sending out the link on July 27!
Unfortunately, those that enrolled with the Google form link that was posted by mistake, will need to make sure you use the new link to enroll. No enrollment done on the google form will transfer over. We apologize for the inconvenience.
